this sewing job made me nervous « Thread Started on Mar 8, 2009, 7:03am »
the boy and his wife got a new bedroom ensemble for Christmas complete with curtains to match the bedding, etc. well i was given the pleasure of altering the curtains. i thought there were two panels to do, turns out there are two pairs to do. i got one set done yesterday and about had a panic attack over it. i was so nervous and my head pounded for hours even after the job was done. what's the big deal you might ask? well, first i got no confidence in my stuff/ability, period. second they had to be whacked off 28 inches from the bottom. it just made me so nervous that they were straight and hung even. i've never done this sort of thing before so it was a first. the actual five minute hemming job wasn't a problem. that was no sweat, it was the precise measuring and cutting involved that got me. geez oh pete. what kind of nerd would i have felt like to have ruined their brand new curtains by cutting too short or uneven, etc. lol. i laugh now but i still got one pair to go and with all i have to get done today, i'm not sure i will put that kind of stress on myself again. they've waited this long on them, what's one more day for sanity's sake? lol. here's a pic of the pair i got done.
